The Sierra
State Parks Foundations a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Donations
are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Our efforts to preserve Sierra regional heritage sites began in 1968 when a dedicated
group of Lake Tahoe citizens formed the Lake Tahoe State Parks Advisory Committee.
The committee was formed in response to plans by
the
California
Division of Beaches and
Parks
to
demolish
Pine
Lodge (also known as the Erhman mansion) in order to create a large campsite
area.
Over the years, the organization has grown to include historic preservation and
interpretation efforts at these Parks.
